Filly Applejack at the Oranges' in Manehatten.I'm not sure if we know which of her parents were sibling to which Orange, but my headcanon is that it's her mother and aunt. Of course, we don't exactly know what happened to AJ's mother or father, but even if they are/were alive here, I think little AJ would still be missing them, thus this picture.
And yes she's looking at (my version) of her mother in the small photograph.

something that only clicked now that if the oranges are her aunts then that (some of this is pretty ovius bear with me) that makes aunt orange likely her mouthers sister (under the classic assumption the "mare" changes her maiden name (differs in cultures already made odd by the fact that the apples in none western fashion state house first before "first" name and that AJ is called APPLE JACK (my head cannon sports a space i mean "Applejack Apple" Really?)))
this makes it likely that her mother would be of house orange.

Thanks ^^ And yeah, I don't really understand how the show uses surnames sometimes, but leaves them off/or has has characters without them other times. Maybe they are a diverse group with various naming traditions (is Big Macintosh actually Apple Big Mac or Big Mac Apple?! lol)?

yep that also is my head cannon it does add a nice flaver to the show amoung other details, likely the apples have a older more foren tradision.

I went to school to be an architect, so drawing spaces is actually easier for me than drawing characters :3 Lots of references from the show used for this one!
