"Originally, Thanksgiving was a Earth Pony holiday to celebrate a bountiful harvest. Ponies would share the excess with their extended families, friends, community leaders, and the less fortunate.

But even in years of drought, disease, and failed harvests, Ponies would still find things to be thankful for, like the smell of autumn, crisp winds, and the beauty of the changing natural landscape.

And especially friends, family, and the laughter we're able to share, in hard times as well as good. It's a time to reminisce with far-away relatives who travel for days to come and visit.

And it's a time to turn acquaintances into friends, sharing not only the Harvest, but heartfelt wishes for future happiness. We thank those who have labored, sacrificed, and shared.

We eat, we laugh, we play, and we give thanks for it all.
