DONE. Probably took six or seven hours without all of those stupid breaks.For the RISD text assignment thing.
Not as good as I was hoping it would be, but at this point I don't care! : D

I wish I could find more examples of this assignment. I had to find this one from searching google. When I search "risd image and text" on deviantart I only get three results (and this isn't one of them). I know it's not something they have every year like the bike, but I thought a lot of people would of finished their's already. I mean early action was already due a while ago. I guess not many of those applicants posted their work?

Well I think the assignment is new for this year, because I looked up examples too. I couldn't find any, though, so I did a text portrait thing.
And I guess not a lot of people applying to RISD this year have a DeviantArt account. :l

I don't have a subscription, so I can't formally write you a critique. I hope you don't mind that this is posted in a comment instead!
First things first -- the fact that you are tackling this assignment is really great. By looking at it first glance, I can tell you spent a long time on it, and your end result has certainly paid off.
With the words -- I really love how you made them three-dimensional against the locks of hair. This really adds more logic to the piece (even though it's definitely conceptual art). I also just noticed how multiple words break off of the one stray lock of hair. Very nice transition!
I understand that you're probably more than finished with this, so any constructive criticism you'll file away. That is fine. You can always apply critique for future works that you will create. And also remember -- you don't always have to take it to heart!
The only things I noticed was the shape of the head behind the ear. I see the photo that it you based it off of; how your hair goes in a bit in that area. However, I think the way it's drawn, it goes in a little too far. Does that make any sense? If you plan on fixing it (which I don't know, at this point I wouldn't feel very motivated to), you can simply add a little more hair with your pencil.

Haha, I forgot my shoulders' even though they don't show that much, but I'm going to work on it a bit more.
