Model is one of my regulars. Well, I only have two regulars. This was done for my Drawing I class, my professor called it "timeless" . I'm really shocked at my ability to draw these days, I never thought of myself as being able to draw more than a stick-figure and now I'm doing full charcoal pieces, coming out of class with my face all black from rubbing it with charcoal covered hands. I absolutely love working subtractively, probably because of all the drawing techniques it's the most like photography because the entire piece is done by carving out the highlights and laying down more materiel in the shadows. It really is "drawing with light."

As a side note, do you know how freaking HARD it is to find a model on Valentines weekend? My teacher assigned this project the week of Valentines, meaning that I had to schedule the model that weekend. (I had other obligations during the week) Well let me say she was freaking AWESOME for letting me cut her Valentine's short. Seriously, she rocks. By the way, did I mention how much awesome she is made of?
