Description
Portrait of the late Ronnie Van Zant, of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Done on illustration board using only broad based color design markers. An effort to convey the portait using only colored areas.There was definitely something about this man, and this band. While some ascribe their/his music to stereotypical trailer trash music, I see repeating themes of death and redemption, and some of the most solid musicianship and songwriting ever seen in Rock and Roll.
I have listened to Skynyrd since I was 9 yrs old. They greatly influenced my guitar playing then, just as they do now.
I did this to commemorate their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006...it's about time.

I agree with everything you said. I've grown up with them, and I tell you what..Ronnie was one hell of a muscian. They all were. It's a real sahem about Billy Powell :/ Have you ever seen them in concert?
