I'm bleeding
I'm tortured

But I'm all on my own
The fights inside of me

I struggle to pull
my broken splintered body
up from the rubble

I lose balance
I tumble
The light fades
I crumble
The darkness smothers everything
The heavy fog chokes me
I try to wave away
the rotting, putrid smell
but it settles in my lungs
and I'm struggling for air

And slowly
the world drifts out of my reach
and nothing has meaning
nothing has purpose
I try to cough up
the foul cold that now lives in my chest

but nothing changes

Now the fog is closing in on me
oxygen's in short supply
The shadows will consume me soon
I'm succumbing to darkness's sweet caress
so with one last breath
one last moment
I whisper my last lie.
