Description
In the 1960s, a line of servant robots created in the city of Darr unexpectedly gained self-awareness and rebelled against their masters. Renaming themselves the Freemechs, they relocated themselves to Clarion's third moon Kapek, which was previously uninhabited due to its toxic atmosphere.

Eventually, the Freemechs' bodies broke down, as they were never constructed to last, so they collectively transferred their minds into new, improved bodies in the 1980s. They did so again in the 2000s after developing a technorganic metal that could grow and heal better than even organic lifeforms could. This technology was acquired by the US government and used to make the modern Diesel Men ( www.deviantart.com/spearhafoc/…).

Obviously, the Freemechs were inspired by the Transformers franchise.
