Description Occult (Villains): "Deal with the Devil", Satan Worship, and Demon Summoning. This is Goatman (Dr. Stephen Fletcher).

Although there are perfectly nice people who view Satan worship as a legitimate path to knowledge, it is definitely considered a "Left Hand Path" in most circles. Superhero stories are inherently about dichotomies, and every story needs a villain - Satan seemed like as good a bad guy as anyone. There are also some who view the summoning and control of demons as acceptable even within the context of Judeo-Christian morality. The idea is that you're controlling the demons to do good. Books such as the Lesser Key of Solomon go with this take on it. Much like Necromancy, you're to stand in the centre of a magic circle inscribed with the holy names of God in order to protect yourself from the demonic beings during the ritual.

This character, on the other hand, is evil with a capital E.

This is the Goatman of Maryland, a popular American Cryptid. He's a 7-foot-tall goat-human hybrid creature known to attack people with an ax. Although some versions of his origin involve scientific experiments, I decided to latch on to the one where he made a deal with the Devil for his power. In my version, he's never satisfied with his amount of knowledge and worldly power and will worship any entity and perform any ritual, no matter how profane and no matter what the cost to human or animal life, in order to increase it. Among the symbols I put on him are the Sigil of King Bael from the Lesser Key of Solomon, the Sigil of Lucifer from Grimorium Verum, and the fictional grimoire The Book of Eibon from the Lovecraft mythos.

Artwork inspired by Sam Kieth. Ink on paper with some digital enhancements.

For some reason this illustration left me with the mental image of an especially fiery demon walking around wearing (stolen and defaced) firefighter's gear, if for no other reason than it's fireproof enough not to burn right off them!

I guess you're doing Vampirism as Occult Villains instead? Or what about Occult Anti-Heroes?

I already have a series on vampires ( spearhafoc.deviantart.com/gall… ), which I consider canon in this series as well, so I won't be doing an entry on them specifically. While most of them are evil in the books I've read and covered in drawings, some are good and some are in between. I made a brief history of vampires for my (currently on hiatus) webcomic, if you're interested: ( recursive-occlusion.tumblr.com… ).

I mostly started adding villains to this series because I wanted to do one on Nazi occultism, and there was no way in hell I was going to call a Nazi a superhero. So far, I've been classing anti-heroes as heroes, just to make categorization easier. Like you mentioned on the lycanthropy entry, his stated mission probably would mean he doesn't get along with the other heroes in the series. Neither would the Catholic Church get along with most of the pagan and neopagan heroes, except in recognizing that demons and villains who are actively harming people would be a higher priority.

BTW I think it seems you have based on the City of Ib from of Lovecraft's stories called "The Doom that Came to Sarnath": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Doom…

Even though the original story had no reference to Vampires but it does talk about "water lizards" not to mention what Lovecraft does best at is racist homophobic/transphobic material about " inhabited by a queer race who had descended from the moon. Lovecraft described them as "in hue as green as the lake and the mists that rise above it.... They had bulging eyes, pouting, flabby lips, and curious ears, and were without voice.".

Basically, I think you should rewrite your webcomic to change and remove the Lovecraftian Ancient Astronaut origin to replace it with more supernatural grounds that far more closer to folklore and mythology or either that, make the origin in the web comic entirely wrong.

Well I've read your history web comic and...well I stopped reading when it got to the Reptilian-Lovecraften stuff since it's too conspiracist and racist to me (since the Lovecraften and David Icke's Reptilian conspiracy theories are based on racism and anti-semetism if you closely look at things especially since the Reptilians are basically interchangeable to the Jews since it's basically a reskin of "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" and also majority of the modern Ancient Astronaut theories can be traced back to Lovecraft Mythos not to mention Lovecraft himself was known to be a big time racist) and I highly find this disappointing which I thought you know better than this.
