I'm not a fellow who likes to leap to Judgement, but after a good long look this STILL strikes me as the most overpoweringly PUNCHABLE Vampire I've ever seen - really, he could give Lestat "the Brat Prince" LESSONS (and probably has) - and if you come to know me, then you'll know that I LOVE to Hate Vampires!

Ruthven is more like what happens if someone who was already more than likely a serial killer when he was live became a vampire because he has all those traits of one.

I still have to read THE VAMPYRE, so I'll defer to your interpretation of the character until that little chore is done; having said that, what little I know of Lord Byron DOES rather suggest that his fictional counterpart would be a COLOSSAL Jerk even before he turned into a bloodletting murderer!
