Description
The headlight tromosim (Greek and Latin words for “terror monkey” respectively) is an arboreal carnivorous felid-like creature that is a member of the family Tromosimiidae, which is closely related to the family Condylotheriidae (kumagins). Inhabiting the tropical forests of central Giyudi, the headlight tromosim, like other members of its family, it occupies a niche similar to arboreal felines from Earth, such as leopards, ocelots and clouded leopards.
The tromosim’s overall body length measures up to 85 cm (33 in.) long, with its shoulder height measuring up to 54 cm (21.6 in.) high and the tail being 57 cm (22 inch) long (with the body and tail combined, this tromosim can grow to 1.4 meters (4.7 ft) long)
Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the headlight tromosim is its cephalofoil-like head shaped similarly to that of a hammerhead shark; this gives the creature increased binocular vision and depth perception, thus improving their ability to hunt for prey.
The headlight tromosim is mainly nocturnal and/or crepuscular, but can also be active during daylight in occasional circumstances. It also lives solitarily, except during mating season.
