"Do you want to jump?"

It was soft, distant, and the thundering that echoed in Lucian's ears made it hard to focus on how close the sound really was. The air was cold, the smell of rain tailing each pull of the breeze. Did he? His eyes followed the drop, the forest, the rivers tangling in between the trees and fading into nothing. "Not really," he replied to the voice, the words thick and heavy in his throat.

There was a shuffle and a great breeze, the warmth of another flank on his making him stiffen but not look up. "Sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest choice you'll ever make," it murmured back, a low rasp accompanying its soothing nature. "No matter how dark it gets... you need to keep going."

There was a moment of silence, and Lucian swallowed.

"Keep going, Luce. Your pack needs you, your brother loves you. But you need to accept what has been lost and grow from it before you can find happiness." Whatever it was, it sighed and the weight against Lucian's side felt heavier. “You are good, never doubt that. You are good.”

And then the weight and warmth was gone, and Lucian shivered against the night air. Slowly, the blue Gamma blinked tears out of his eyes and watched several small drops decend over the lip of the cliff and into the forest. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and every now and then Lucian could make out the sounds of rain somewhere far off.
