Description
Everyone loves blue glowy eyes. This here's a practice piece. I tried to give it a surreal kind of feel. What do you think?

that looks awesome! nice job
how in the world do you learn how to do all that stuff? (like the eyes and the fogginess...) do you teach yourself?

I think up my own techniques, but a lot is from tutorials I've done.. for example, I went through a starfield tutorial and one of the techniques they used in it gave a cluster of stars a collective glowy-ness. Also you can do that with the blending effects, so I thought, hey, wouldn't it be cool if I could do that to a regular picture? So I duplicated the layer, did a gaussian blur to 20 pixels or something, set it to linear dodge (good stuff right there) and toned down the opacity I think. Either that or I used screen. Or overlay. Can't remember.
Pretty much the same thing with the eyes, got part of that technique off a tutorial about touching up pictures -- I selected the eyes, duped the layer and played around with hue/saturation. Used a cool trick I learned from a planet-making tutorial to create an actual layer from blending options you've set, and did the same blur thing as above. I think I also played around with the levels for the individual colors.
But yeah I kinda teach myself.
