Description
This is the first, and to date, only drawing I've ever done in Prismacolor marker. To anyone not familiar with 'Oz' outside of the film, this is Ozma from the original Baum books, ruler of the Land of Oz.I think I made her arm too big, but it's hard correcting stuff in marker (probably the reason why I never use them ^-^)

Isn't her broach displaying the "states" that comprise Oz in the wrong positions?I thought it was red = south, purple = north, yellow = west, blue = east.

Finally, someone who knows about Ozma other than me. I when I was in second grade I dressed up as her from Halloween, the other didn't recognize the character and made fun of me. Beautiful portrayal of her.

The arm's not to big the head's too small, you seem to have managed to change styles between anime and realistic partway down the body and personally I prefer the latter. I've been working on a depiction of Ozma's brooch recently myself (it's harder than it looks) and I'd suggest swapping the locations of the purple and yellow stones. That all sounded a bit critical so let me take this opportunity to say that I actually quite like the picture.

Yeah, I know, there's a lot about this that I'm not totally happy with myself, and you're probably right, the head is the problem not the arm. But oh well, right? Anyway, thanks for commenting, and for the suggestion, although I have the gems placed where they are for a specific reason: they each represent a color of the four countries of Oz--North, South, East, and West-- in their right order on the compass, so that's why I designed it that way.

Thanks ^^ Yeah, I never was happy with her arm, so no prob. Actually I am doing some more Oz pictures as I speak, trying to get started on some illustrations for an actual book someone's asked me to do art for, so I'll probably post some here.
