Description
Used Leonardo Dicaprio as a reference:[link]This is an expanded, reworked version of the "fragmentation" concept I drew in my planner a while ago.
As individuals in an increasingly conformist society, we are often faced with the choice of individuality versus acceptance into the group. But what is this acceptance if it comes at the cost of your own identity?
...or you could just call this Inception fanart, lol. Still haven't seen that movie yet, but since Leonardo Dicaprio is one of the major actors, people are bound to assume it's fanart.

After first seeing this deviation, for some reason it reminded me of the film "Inception" (I've seen it, it's one of those films where yopu need to watch it more than once to understand it). Anyway, this picture, like all your other art, is simply AMAZING. PLEASE keep it up.

As complex as the mind could be, the body is a whole 'nother puzzle, and piecing both together creates the soul. I really like this and how it all falls to pieces.

Thanks
I spend way too much time thinking about the inner workings of the human mind and how we come together to form society. I'm kind of a wannabe philosopher

I was little bit disappointed about this film. I do not have any objections to going to toilet during the movie in cinema I'm not saying it's a bad or something, but I was expecting something more
Your draw is, as always, great This fragmentation matches perfectly to the climate of the film. Shadowing is amazing and details of whole Dicaprio are awesome
You superbly germ the idea of previous drawing

Maybe the best part happened when you were at the toilet XP
I want it to raise questions about the human experience, not just a bunch of pretty special effects. The special effects are important, of course, but they're just the icing on the cake.

Haha,no I knew what will happen in that scene, when I was going to toilet
I know what you mean. Whole idea, concept, was great, but I was expecting something more from as great director as Nolan But this is only my opinion
Important is that this film inspires you and you are making such awesome art as this one

The idea fits with the movie in a way
you should see it! It will blow your mind if your the "think-about-everything" type of person

I've seen a bunch of crazy special effects in the previews... and that's pretty much all I know about it.
So, a philosophical movie? Sounds cool. I'll definitely check it out.

idk about philosophical, its like the movie took an idea that may have crossed your mind and expanded on it.

lol no man, I love the concept. Its a cool idea how fragments are slowly deteriorating (or slowly building) him.

"WHY IS IT SO EASY FOR YOU TO BE CREATIVE"
By watching him, we agree that all of our creativity is available for him to use, therefore he uses too much of it and leaves almost nothing for us.

It's not that great :T
I could've re-digitized the square fragment things, but I was like, nah, it'll make the whole thing look incohesive...
I sorta want to continue with these surreal-ish pieces, but they tend to be relatively ignored. Does the artist draw for himself, or does he draw for his viewers? After all, if an artist only draws for himself, then what would be the point of drawing? Would it not be just the same to retain the image in one's own head without depicting it on paper? That is, of course, assuming that the purpose of art is to solidify a mental image for others to comprehend.

It depends, I've also considered things like that. It's like this, if I draw fan art, it explodes with love, I mean, remember that link picture? It became my most faved in two days wtf, oh but I spend like twenty hours more on something more infamous, and it's ignored.
Sometimes you happen to just feel like doing something that it just so happens people love and whatnot, but it shouldn't ever be your goal to attain attention, to become famous per say. That's just being attention-whoreish
I get some AWESOME things in mi mind sometimes, but it's impossible to make them visible to someone else, it isn't always possible to portray some things on paper, and even when something is made physically observable by a sentient being, since we each have our own perspective of things, you cannot always get everyone to understand just what you wanted them to see!
That other monitor was also a little less saturated than this one, here I see the picture a bit too colorful :s But in the other one it looked damn gorgeous xD Still looks cool though, if I look at it from an angle I get the same lap-top effect. Anyway, dude, I question myself all the time about whether it is even worth it to draw at all, since most will just either think it's cool, or ignore it completely. Every once in a while though, there comes someone that gives your work the respect it deserves, someone that observes every single little detail and thinks about all the hard work it must have taken to draw all that. If at least one of those true appreciators gets to see my piece, then its has purpose, and it was well worth the effort it took to have made it.

I actually spent time on adjusting this one with baseline monitor settings ;_;
To the uninitiated observer, art is merely the act of making pretty pictures. Only those who have dedicated large portions of their daily lives to the craft appreciate the nuances of technique, whether it's a masterful capturing of texture or a picture-perfect gradient.
To truly appreciate a work of art is to know what the artist went through to accomplish it. You've gotta relive all the hours of patient detailing and recognize the frustrations behind the really crazy parts of the work.
And there's my philosophical two cents. I'll be your pencil appreciator guy if you'll be mine

waddayamean baseline monitor settings? xD
Haha you can really go on and on about that kinda stuff, I sometimes spend too much time thinking about it, and then i notice I still haven't finished my work or whatever xD.
Of course you know I have been and will be so long as our hands lend us the strength to draw on :'O /pseudo-romantic-movie-moment

Wow guys . This whole conversation was wonderful to read. I've also wondered the same thing. Kinda hurts when feedback fluctuates the way you described but I like what you two have basically said about it still being worth one's while even if a single person appreciates the effort
