Also I feel like the first idea that comes up to fix this situation is cutting dipper's hand off- which is quickly disregarded bc it's a lot weirder to walk around holding a severed hand compared to holding one that's attached to someone (also dipper really doesn't want his hand cut off. that is a big part of why that plan did not take place)
