Description Evolutionary history

The boo is a bizarre form of primate that is a specialist of the pine forest and mountains of the dinosaur islands. They evolved from a primate species that drifted on vegetation to the islands similar to other primates on the dinosaur islands. In the case of the boo it evolved white fur to camouflage into the snow. They have special adaptations for the cold such as a snub nose and small external ears which are not visible on a living boo. The boo also evolved a loud laughing cry. They also evolved long canine teeth for defense however they don't often attack as the usually hide and examine new objects in there environment with curiosity over aggregation unless they are provoked.  They have been seen creating simple nests out of leaves, twigs, and grasses. However they have taken advantage of a more recent shelter there is evidence that there was once a civilization that existed on the islands. Groups of boos have been seen congregating in the ruins of this civilization.

Diet

Boos are mostly herbivorous eating liken, moss, grasses, leaves, bark, and occupational carrion. This generalist diet is due to the harsh environment of their mountain homes.

Breeding

The boo mostly breed during early January. Unlike other primates the boo make leks similar to some birds. The lek of male boos will make a hierarchy each showing their strength through shouting matches as the females watch. If two males are equal in strength the two males will fight these are never to the death as pretty quickly one male backs down. After the lek hierarchy is the females will mate with the males. The females will mate with the males they will then gestate for 15 months before giving birth.

Defense

When boos are threatened in trees they will drop down with their hands out while tucking their legs close against their body. While making their iconic laughing cry. They will also open their mouths with their tongues stuck out.
