Description First vector ever attempted, please give me some tips or point out things I messed up on.
I hate her nose, too many anchor points.

Very good for a first attempt. Good comments below but also just watch for line thickness and try to do sections in one attempt, for instance one line for a leg/hoof etc. as smooth as possible. Zooming right in can help you add sections to smooth out errors too. As said, use as few anchor points as possible, and its mostly just learning to read the curves and getting layers right

This was my first attempt so there are errors but I'm still not happy with it. I've gotten a bit better and I think I'm going to end up completely redoing this vector sometime soon.

It's all about learning! I have just re-done my first vector as I've developed my skills, just haven't uploaded it. Keep at it, vectoring is fun and it just takes practice

"please give me some tips or point out things I messed up on."
Well if you really wanna know...

*I'm going to assume you use Photoshop*
1) Try to use the least amount of anchor points and let the Bezier curves do all the work.
2) Try to keep those Bezier curves end and start smoothly; i.e. don't make them take sharp turns unless it's meant to be like in the mane.
3) Clipping Masks help a lot with the eyes... especially the highlights.
4) Keep your layers organized. I can see the ear is under the mane layer, when it should be covering the mane.
5) There are many animation glitches; make changes as you feel looks right (such as the chin: usually the chin line extends into the neck). Basically, don't trace the screenshot 100%. No one is going to hate you for changing the picture to make it look better
6) Use layers to your advantage. For example, for the eye reflection thing, you could have just made a simple oval and put it over the layer for the iris and pupil, instead of deleting from the iris and pupil.

If you need clarification, just ask.
Sorry for block of text, but you asked for it!

Otherwise, great job as a first!
