This abomination is a Subterranean Dweller, formerly human whose ancestors descended into the depths of Earth in the days of old. Harsh conditions deformed their bodies into bizarre shapes, absence of daylight made them blind and vastly sharpened the other senses. They inhabit the upper layers of Substrata, close to the surface, yet still far from the Upper World.

Deep below, hidden in darkness and silence, creatures more strange and of darker thoughts live, hiding from light they forgot centuries ago.
