Description Hetalia is a silly series. Very much so.

One interesting fact abour Hetalia is that the cast, despite being from all over the world (they are freaking nations), roughly has the same animu face applied over and over and over on 90% of the characters. Now, I think Hidekaz Himaruya's style is cute, but you just CANNOT draw Seychelles as a lightly tanned Liechtenstein. And besides, varying faces is cool! Included: Greece, Germany, Seychelles (has to modify her a lot...), China, Japan, England with Churchill, France, America, Northern and Southern Italy, Russia (not quite convinced on that one...), Austria, Cuba and Korea.

Characters are Hidekaz Himaruya's.

I totally agree with you, and that's why I love to find these kind of "unmoe" Hetalia's fanart (:
Keep up the good work!

IIIII love it. I really do. This is awesome, glad I'm not the only one who wants to draw the characters of Hetalia looking their own nationalities! CB

I'm not even a big fan of Cuba yet his makes me grin XD

Nice. I don't really like to rag on the creator's style. (It's simplicity allows us fanartists to decide what the charas look like, which is fun to me.) But, I love your version. Seychelles does need to look a lot less European.

I like Hidekaz's style, especially early in the comic. But one thing I cannot ignore anymore in most manga character designs is the tendency to make everyone look vaguely European-Caucasian(except for, maybe, extremely chibi faces, which don't even look human), to the point that in most animes and mangas you cannot tell apart native Japanese characters from Western foreigners. Why am I blabbering about this? I can't shake the feeling there's some (un?)conscious racism at work here. Some might say that most characters look so stylized you can't assign them an ethnicity, so I might project the one I see most frequently (in my case European)onto them...but I'm quite convinced this is not the case. If you take a not extremely stylized, adult anime face, you'll be likely to notice double eyelids, long and projecting pointed nose with small sharp nostrils(sometimes extremely so), long facial shape, slim lips and so on...all things typical of Europeans, especially Northern Europeans, or at best Eurasians. Maybe I'm exaggerating, I don't know. Black people have arguably the worst deal of the lot in anime, as their features don't usually come in the "anime" package, therefore making the rare black characters in animes ridiculous blackface caricatures or anime people with a tan (as in Seychelles). Though Cowboy Bebop largely averted this, but it's the one anime I can recall and a quite atypical one at that. Sorry for the hideously long post, but it's a matter (racism) very close to me and which no one else in the anime fandom seems to notice.
