Went to the art class again, need to go soon, can't tell the whole story but I made this :'D The Daughter and her pet. Yeh, I had a bit more freedom, practicing getting ref from photo. kayRelated content

I was scrolling through the gallery and saw this beauty, which I actually really like!
I'm usually not very gothic and spooky, but the resemblance to a Tim Burton work is so captivating.
I love the deeper meaning behind this piece, and I really feel like there's a backstory to this. The skeleton bird is eerily beautiful, and the way you depicted a starry sky is gorgeous. I love the cat's(or rather, the cat's tail) resemblance to and the bell around it's neck. (Not sure why I noticed the bell either) The moon directly behind skeleton bird really helps direct the eye, something find hard to do.
As for some tweaks, there's very few. Maybe this is how you planned it, but the bird doesn't have any wings. Or maybe it does. Like I said, that could be planned, so you can take that any way you like. In all honesty, when I first looked at the cat, I saw a goat head and cat body. I think that's just the background and the little tuft, but still, might be worth looking at twice. I shorten the cat just a smidge so that he still looks sleek and creepy, but doesn't look like Slinky Dog from Toy Story. Last little thing is while the trees in the background are very, very cool, I personally would thin them out a tad, since they can be distracting a divert the eye.
Anyway, that about wraps it up, great job! Keep this up and the comic will look FANTASTIC.

Many thanks ^_^ Lol Slinky..Yeh tweaks mentioned are part of the design. The bird is supposedly wingless and the Daughter is supposed to be lanky and sickly. But you know, thanks !

These character designs look awesome. I can't wait to see how you use them in you comic. They really remind me of that stringy, sketchy Tim Burton style. I love stuff like that. XDD

So pretty! Amazing :3 That must took forever right? I mean the whole background, the roof tiles and the trees... and I don't know why, but this artwork gives me a cozy feeling

I mean..not really. It was a 8x20 rectangle thing made proportional from the thumbnails we did. The class was like 4 hours but we had breaks and the first and last minutes were like cleaning up and waiting for my ride XDD

Yeh, it did! Because of the ladies from last week wasn't there, there was a dude with a ponytail named Mike :3 He does comics and I got really excited! I asked him questions abou it and stuff Yeh
