in lieu of a better title, well... I DID say next was the magnificient five
it's ALMOST true... Blue, Jet, and uh, 3 Juniors make five.
Look, let's not get into any math contests we may regret!

First up, and continuing my counter clockwise spin from the last one was Captain Blue. (time for my character speal) Blue, when you are first introduced to him (and I mean, even BEFORE the game starts, like in ads or what-not) leaves a comical aftertaste, but not in a good way. When you learn that (paraphrased quote: ) "retired and overweight action movie hero Captain Blue gives regular everyday Joe the power of VFX, to battle it out as Viewtiful Joe with powers based on the movies" it leaves you unimpressed.
This is the basic info all the game info places (magazines, net, what have you) gave us before it was playable, and it just makes you think "this game's gonna be cheezy/lame, trying for too many jokes at the expense of movies/comics/superheroes"

*cough*That was a very long, very round about way of saying that once you PLAY the game, your impression of Captain Blue completely changes. He gets all cool and mystic, and you learn he's something of a tragic character... you even stop noticing the gut! Especially in Viewtiful Joe 2, in his few appearances, he's just a guy who you respect.
And of course, if you manage to unlock PLAYABLE Captain Blue in VJ1, you see how incredibly powerful he is (what with his cool hovering power) all that said, I don't have much to say about the drawing except I don't usually draw pot bellies, so to draw that AND to attempt to keep the VJ proportions (which by this point I'm making up entirely different proportions for each drawing randomly) is pretty hard.

Next I drew the 3 Juniors! I love Captain Blue Jr. he's such a great character, so he better show up in more games than just RedHotRumble. First with regular Jr. well, he looks good except for his head lol. something about his hair messes me up every time! it widens the head, and the whole thing goes out of whack! On another note, he dresses funny eh? haha well his clothes are just another interesting aspect of his persona.
Captain Blue Jr. the yo-yo master variety (lol) was done next specifically so I could draw him without drawing his hair. For simplicity, I drew a straight on pose, but all artists take heed, straight ahead, balanced poses are actually the hardest to do!
for anyone who wants to draw this junior after seeing this, remember that his eyes DO show out of the visor!

Then the caped version. I'm already running super long with this, so I'll try to write less, but anyway, this version is probably the most fun! he's got so much guts, running around with no powers, keeping up with Joe anyway! You have to admire Jr. for that! and really, of all the main characters, he deserves the power to 'henshin' most of all
please note how I improved drawing his head. I controlled the hair (it did not control me) and so the face didn't stretch, and everything worked out nicely!

Next to him is the Black Emperor, which.. uh.. I didn't finish. lol I put a "place holder shoulder pad" but I know it looks different than that... basically everything from his neck down needed research and I just didn't get to it lol

Up above is Jet Black, Joe's dad, owner and operator of his own "movie thee-ater"
HIM I researched quite well all throughout (well, sorta.. you can see the cuff of his pant leg, but no pants, so I guess this is technically not done either)
Anyway, I have him in his (*******) pose, from the part where the (*** **** *****) begins.
hmm, censorship, well I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't beaten the game (like you don't know how it goes anyway ) but wait, is that a watch of some kind on his arm...

And finally I started drawing regular Blue, but gave up because I haven't (yet) gotten a good enough reference. and lazyness. that too. but you can see his moustache, and his stomach! so you know it's him!
