Here's something I did just to keep myself drawing!VanillaBeanSpots create this open collaboration for Voltron characters:
I thought it was both something to get me drawing today AND a good excuse to draw Rana again
It's funny cause I had to take Allura out but I kind of used her face and stuff as a guide/base but since Rana is a shorty mcshortpants, I definitely couldn't use Allura as a real base for Rana... unless Roe was like 3 feet tall haha
This was actually pretty difficult for me because, well taking Allura out wasn't too bad, but my style is pretty much opposite of Voltron LD style and I still don't have it down, but it's close enough haha Voltron LD uses a lot of hard angles, sharp shapes, and simplified effects and I'm so used to drawing fluffy, rounded, and a bunch of heavy effects... so there's a learning curve haha No wonder I've never drawn in this style. I did my best to keep the lighting/atmosphere consistent at least.Oh well.
I tried.
ALSO.. Roe is such a cutie hehehe

I had fun making this today and it helped me feel less anxious so shout out to you OP. <3

Yes! Alien ^_^ She's a salbatan from a planet called Marron and that's a pretty hot place. Her species have kangaroo-like tails where they can sort of use them to "hop" around to avoid the hot ground, but their cities are so technologically advanced that they now have bio-domes where a variety of climates can be created and found. The biggest export of her planet is spaceship parts and crafting and Rana's family are pretty well-known in their area for designing and building ships.
Anyway, her culture is sort of a mix of Cyberpunk, Indian, Steampunk, and a little 80's Glam Rock/sci-fi. I made a whole Pinterest board for them haha

This looks so awesome and lovely!! Rana looks quite good in the show's style, I think. I'm doing this same collab, and I've had to do the same thing with Max with adjusting Allura since Max is also shorter than Roe.

Also... sidenote- I'm sorry it's taking me so long to get back on the V:LD train again heh... I've literally got like 3 seasons to catch up on haha
But once I get up to date I can finally get back into worldbuilding and whatnot!
Anyway, you should do this collab!!

lucky for you they're the shorter seasons, but I know life can really get in the way. I do know this upcoming season will be a 13 ep one and so will the following season and that's the show's ending. Crazy right? I'm sure once you get caught up, you'll have more worldbuilding ideas.
I'm still working on this collab, mainly due to me sorting out Max's armor design haha
Yeah you're right, we haven't! Like I've listed Rana as one of Max's friends/allies, but we've never collabed or done art of them together. That's been on my bucketlist too
