Jen was always a favorite, after I saw her in the FF. Sassy, classy and definitely a gal you did NOT want to get on the bad side of.

Well, I actually didn't find out about Ben's religious status until not long ago (found it on a big website that listed the beliefs of nearly every major character for Marvel, DC, and a lot of the independents).
But I didn't start pairing Ben and Kitty until I started writing a story, as part of a tribute to Dave Cockrum -- who died from pneumonia, complicated by his diabetes -- and one of my major twists came along as I was working out the plot-arcs.
Ben's always been one of my favorites from the FF, and Kitty ranked high as a favorite (next to Rogue and Psylocke -- the ORIGINAL one, not the ninja-babe), so when I was developing means to integrate Ben more into the X-Men's team, I started working him and Kitty together and . . . BANG! They became a pairing. ^_^
And I agree, the visual of big, orange Blue-Eyed Benjy and Kitty hugging would be a sweet sight to see! Commissions . . . well, that may be a while. I was just in the hospital over the holidays (serious deep infection in my leg, nearly lost the leg, too), and the costs and loss of work and pay has left me under the heavy end of the hammer. I'll hope that I can scrimp up the funds for something in the near future.
