The inking and colour on the main character is quite decent but the rest of the picture seems rushed and of a lower quality; not just in ink or colour but also the perspective seems lazy not to mention the clouds which are just plain aweful.
Guys it's just my feedback, it's here to help you develop and get better which is more useful than the "wow great pic" comments you have been receiving on this.

Intriguingly the rendering of the clouds has been the part I've had the most compliments on!
I think in general the original pencils were a sketch so Spidey and the chimney were the main two points he was focussing on. The inks have punched the foreground up and then strengthened up the original pencil background.
When colouring it I took my cues from that and made sure that the foreground was spot-on and the background buildings were basically rendered and I used atmospheric haze to push them further into the background. My feeling when colouring it was that the foreground character and chimney were the important bits, the rest was gravy, which I think is pretty much how we all worked on it. I can't speak for Mike Weiringo though (and I also have no problem with the choices he made), but I think had he been doing an actual page or poster he would have done it differently.
As SpiderGuile says though, we're all learning and we're happy to hear all opinions.

Hangin on, hangin on...I have a bit of freelance going on, but nothing spectacular. Just logos and such. I want to steer my portfolio towards childrens books, so I'm trying to find some childhood stories that I would want to draw. So far I am playing with, The Boy Who Drew Cats, the Brown-Eyed Princess, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Tall, Tall, Green Grass a story written by a friend of mine. Really cool settings for each, Japan, Africa, Europe and rural America. Any one of them would be neat!! We'll see. I'll start doing sketches on one of em once my freelance stuff is over with!!
Persevere On My Brother!!!!!
