Here's some DBZ/S. 17 thinking about something that has puzzled and made me think quite a lot as well. As far as can be told, 16 was not returned to life after the Cell saga was over... which is strange indeed. In all of my (kinda bad, uncompleted) DBZ fan-stuff I had always had him brought back but be largely aloof. Which is the feel-good option, but I've come around to think that it's certainly not the only one. As shown by Goku, if you get wished back it's possible to decline and choose to remain dead. Which has... really sad and also important implications.Enjoy my sad, reflective, speculative fanart missing the one person it's most about.

It's unknown how canon it will be considered, but 16 comes back in FighterZ.

Enh, I don't consider the games canon to the main stuff at all. It's much like the movies--much of that stuff would be impossible for it to happen along with the canon events, and requires it to be an alternate timeline for it to work.
