I've never had as much of a chip in my shoulder about roaches, but I know many do, which is why I think it's really neat that they took something widely considered to be the epitome of disgusting things and made it into something that is, scientifically, the epitome of beauty. They could have easily made the roach Pokemon a plain-looking bug/poison type with a droopy face that likes to hang around Garbodor and Trubish. I think it probably refreshed many people's view on roaches too, or at least I hope it did. They're very fascinating and very social creatures. (They have friends!)
