Well, here's the piece I've been working on the past few days! It features 7 swordsman that all come from stories involving time travel! Why'd I choose 7? Probably because of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.For those of you who can't figure out who the characters are, I'll list them:
(From Left to Right)
-Crono from Chrono Trigger
-The Prince from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
-Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Z
-Link from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Ulrich Stern from Code Lyoko
-Future Hiro Nakamura from Heroes
-Samurai Jack from...well, Samurai Jack
As for the creatures, I made them up...I figured that if they had been bad guys from all the different franchises, that it would take the focus away from the 7 swordsmen! So instead, I created some giant creatures, with some more "time-related" motifs; such as the hands of the clock on the eyebrows, and the hourglass on the chests.

Samurai Jack is just awesome. And I just about to say that doesn't Trunks have different colored hair??... it's definitely been a while since I had last seen Dragon Ball (Z) lol.

To be honest, I've never actually heard about those characters! (I missed out on a lot of anime, comics, and cartoons from the past 3 years, due to animation school; and am only starting to catch up on what I missed now)

Ah! Look up Berserk and Claymore then. And heh no worries. Catching up can always be a good thing since most of those series are completed by now 
The last cartoon I watched was Samurai Jack so the man holds a special place in the animated area of my memory. And yeah I always see him with his regular hair! (Of course it's been ages since I last saw DBZ so who knows!)

Turns out that one of my teachers gave me the Claymore series, so that's a plus! I looked up Berserk, and it seems they're making a new animated series for it, and there's already a few teaser clips for it. It's going under the title of "Berserk Animated Project".
Yeah, Samurai Jack is probably my favourite animated series! Not only that, but the creator is pretty much my hero...He's done so many masterpieces, in my opinion!
I think part of the reason you always see him with regular hair is, 1. he looks cooler like that, and 2. unlike most characters in that show, he's not the kind of character that tends to show off how strong he is...well, at least his future version isn't, anyways.

My only warning about Claymore is that they made a crummy ending that isn't related to the manga at all. And Berserk is just awesome. Can't wait to see the new animated series!
Agreed! It was awesome! And yeah he's done some great series indeed.

Damn, that's a shame! One of my biggest peeves, is when an amazing series loses momentum at the ending! Unfortunately, crummy endings are becoming quite common, nowadays!

Yeah but the whole series follows the manga really well till about the last 2/3 episodes. It's still worth watching. And yeah it is it's like they can't make up their minds or something.

This makes me wonder which of them is the best/baddest/coolest/strongest of them.

I'm not sure which is the strongest? My guess would probably be Trunks, only because everyone on DBZ just continually finds ways to become 1000 times more powerful than the last time they fought a big threat!
Oh, I made up the bad guys...I thought it'd be too confusing if they were fighting a mis-mash of bad guys from each series...would make the image to busy looking, I think!

Hmm, yeah, was thinking along the same lines there...
The bad guys look great. The kinda remind me of the goons of Dr. Drakken from Kim Possible, mixed with a bit of Power Ranger's generic enemies.

Hey, I just thought you could do a team of villians that travel time as well. Cell and the dark prince should be in, of course, but for the others you wouldn't have to find exact pendants from their own universes, just any time-traveling villians would do.

Actually, even before I started the image, I was thinking of a second drawing featuring all the major villains from the franchises...so in other words, it's very likely that you'll be seeing something along those lines, sometime in the near future!

Fantastic picture. Great composition, lineart, palette - the works. One thing I thought was that even though it's an action sequence, every character has both their feet planted on the ground. Having some of them be mid-leap, off-balanced, foot lifted to move forwards, and so on would really add to the dynamicness (you know what I mean) in the picture. But it took me a while to notice this, so it work either way. And I really like how you've adapted all these different characters to your own style, job well done, I must say!
