Description
Quick Samurai Jack test I made in Flash. No reference used, but I have studied Genndy Tartakovsky's style for quite a few character design projects last year in animation; so I'm fairly familiar with what they look like (more or less anyways...I'm probably very off on Aku...lol).Might scrap later!
Samurai Jack is one of my all time favourite cartoons! This is a perfect example of a series that has been brilliantly executed from beginning to end! Man, I can't wait for the feature-length animated movies coming out!
Anyways...Hope ya like it!
Samurai Jack and Aku (c) Genndy Tartakovsky

Nice! It's so wonderfully sketchy

Oh, I want to see that show sooooooo badly! I heard nothing but good things about it, and the artwork for it is so impressive! I actually went out to purchase the artbook from the guy who did the backgrounds on that show, after I saw the first screenshots of it!

It's awesome, man- the show's pretty much Tartakovsky's love letter to all the great mecha shows of the past. It's like "Kikaider" meets "Voltron" meets "Sixteen Candles". The style's great- the usual Tartakovksky mix of curves and angles with an obvious anime influence

Yeah, I just watched the first 3 episodes...Really great stuff! Well, the first episode kinda dragged on a bit for me, to be honest. But the third episode was so hilarious! I love how every episode they just keep increasing the city's cost of repairs exponentially! Plus, the story seemed to pick up the pace quite a bit, after the first episode! Can't wait to watch the rest!

I do like how, in a realistic sort of way, the city in under constant construction because of the monster attacks/fights- you never saw that on "Power Rangers", so that's cool
The supporting characters are great, too- I want to see a fuller backstory on Solomon

Haha. Nope, just a short flash animation unfortunately. An animated movie would be sweet, though!
