Here's the first in a series of "What if's I have planned to draw on my spare time. This one is fairly dark-toned, but the next one I have planned is a very "different" tone all together!"What if the Hero didn't manage to save the Kingdom of Hyrule? What if he lost his life while fighting Ganondorf, and the only thing which could potentially turn back the hands of time, was destroyed? What if the Princess (now masquerading as Sheik), had to fill Link's shoes, and take back her kingdom from the hands of the tyrant, Ganondorf? I think It'd make for a very interesting tale! Here's how I think the tale would start...

I've been wanting to write a fanfic like that. In some message board topics about hypothetical Zelda games, I've written a setup scenario like this - Zelda becomes the hero of the story and Link becomes her guide in ghost-form. You see, she doesn't just have to save her kingdom, she has to put him at peace so he can move on.
As for your pic - Link's hat just never leaves his head, does it? I like the gritty look everything has and I like Link's open, dead eyes. They add drama - you know he's not just out/asleep.

I was gonna exclude the hat, but I thought that it wouldn't look as iconic if I had left it out...so yes, he has a potetiall gravity-defying hat! lol.

Dunno...Not sure she'd even be able to save Termina, since in my version the Ocarina is destroyed. Unless she's either more efficient than Link at getting tasks done in 3 days, or finds another way to time travel, I think Termina is going to get a very close-and-personal astronomy lesson!

The picture is sad, but the idea is genius. I mean, why not have Link's 'persona' as like the prince or something? It would be very cool for all the female LoZ fans to finally be able to play as Zelda

Yeah, I agree! Zelda is one of the franchises that I'd really love to see them do a game with a female main character (preferably the princess). She's had increasingly larger roles in the last while, but I'd still like to see what the dynamic would be like if she took center-stage!

For real. I think a game based on Sheik during the seven years that Link was out of commission would be very interesting. She obviously learned many skills, and had to use them somehow. It's a perfect opportunity.

I'm pretty sure if you opened up a ROM editor, pull out the final fight, and delete the rest, you could possibly fill in the rest of he space with something like that... Not that it wouldn't take a good modeler, texturer, etc. and a lot of time to do all of it.

I, er, uhh.. It has lots of genres, put it that way.
It's basically a game where the three main characters are kidnapped from the real world (Earth) and forced into going to different Nintendo-based worlds.. well, not always Nintendo, but mostly. People like Link, Samus, and even Red from Pokemon show up.. the one I'm working on now is a warmup for when I complete college and make it a real game.
