Thanks for the critique! Β As for the cutie mark, I tried to figure out what it was as it was only shown so briefly, Β I ended up going with Tom because of this: sta.sh/012l0bv9gu6 and I found it pretty funny :3

It is perfect for first impression but picky ones can find a lot of glitches. For instance if she is leaning against the rock then the sharp end of the rock should be resting on the ground. If she is holding it or moving it then she should be a little more far back. Also I think you could work out a more refined shadow. Otherwise this piece has a good first impression like I said before. Oh, and I think you should make a background for this deviation or you could say artwork or piece. Anyways, if you added a few more refinements it would be fine.

As for the rock, I chose that angle based off a scene where it was more embedded in the ground, but I left out the ground like I did a background for no particular reason, and even though a rock may look precarious its usually pretty hard to get it to roll even a bit. She was supposed to look more like she was just leaning on the rock as opposed moving it.
For the shadows I agree with you, shading is something that I have been trying to work on for a while, and is something that I need to keep practising. I also agree about the background, its just something I hate making, but I need to work on anyway haha
