NO CRITS, and Fullview Please!!! I nearly died making this!Wow it's finally finished. *brain hemmorages* This project took several days and a lot of sanity-cost to complete. I estimate it was about pi^5 hours. Chael, I know you designed this character and uploaded it to DA specifically because you KNEW I would be attracted to it and that it would destroy me!! YOU KNEW!! I'm onto you... :glare:
*laugh* Man. ok. This is 's mermaid character Vrin. She normally has huuuge wings (those black ones on her back), but I had to reduce them to make them fit the composition
Hope that's ok!! I also broke out my "Under the Sea" Reference book to find some fun animals. All those sea critters *do* exist and their shapes and colours were taken from reference. (not poses!) I also had to mimick a photo in the book to figure out how to colour the upshot at the turtle. AAGh. I worked *so* hard on this, I'm so glad it's done. It was a gigantic challenge but I learned a lot. [link] < -- I even uploaded a collection of detailed shots from this piece into scraps if you're interested. Since I worked so hard, I'm going to hand out a couple of cookies::

I absolutely adore your creative composition, the arch of her tail and the way it's reflected in the sweep of the sealife is gorgeously well done, and the details are beautiful!

Lovely colours, and the shine of the sunlight through the water on her back looks SO gorgeous.
Someone already guessed your FAVOURITE part, so I'ma gonna guess on the LEAST favourite... colouring/removing the outlines? God knows that that's MY least favourite part when I work on stuff. ... which is why everything of mine has thick black outlines ^_^;

This is amazing! o__O I can't even begin to peg what I like most about it... everything is beautiful. I have to say that the overall composition is just great... I like how portions of the picture are spilling over the edges. The work you put into this certainly shows.
And... I'll take a guess at your least favorite part and say the shell (or is that one of those sea-pouch things? I can't remember the name for them...) beside her left arm.

Wow nice work Angie! I'm impressed, this is one beautiful piece! The colors are so vibrant and the attention to details is jaw dropping. I love the distant sunlight hitting the water and the sea turtle, it's all very beautiful!

WOW! Awesome! I love the way the tail serves as part of the border and how the sea part is enclosed within. Your sea life is so cool looking and the mermaid so incredibly drawn. I love the hair. It's all so fluid!

This is just... absolutely AWESOME.
The hair, which wasn't finished before, look absolutely WONDERful. I'm also willing to bet it was the part most fun to do.
Everything about this kicks ass. (I love the pose of the lower seahorse there, by the way. ^^ And the Sea turtle! Oh man, I love sea turtles.)
Hm.. what was least fun? I'll place a bet and say it was her mouth/teeth. Oh man, this piece is just so cool. I love how the "border" works, because it really isn't a border at all, and the way that the fishies are swimming away... ^^ Aw....

Yeah, I like the border. It's kind of a double border, because intially the whole tail/sealife thing was going to be the border, but I'm glad I added the black to center it ^^

DonΒ΄t worry, I donΒ΄t think anyone could possibly have anything bad to say about this. The coloring is very beautiful, and it is very impressive how many details you managed to fit into this picture. The reflecting light from the surface was a very good idea, and you pulled it off nicely. I can bet that it wasnΒ΄t necessarely the most easiest thing to do.

Awesome! I love it and its very Vrin-like, especially her hair. Its ok to alter her a bit for the composition., which btw is very nicely done. All those sea animals are to die for! (Especially the hermit crab with the sea anenome on its back!!! hehe, love it! Thanks for a wonderful entryl ~_^
