Description The level is a futuristic horror game, set in an abandoned underground laboratory. The player has to go through the level and get to....the lift.

My favourite of the lot, everything went a lot more smoothly with this one. And I discovered a few ways to polish up the piece while adding detail. Namely, using the snap lasso tool on edges for clearer boundaries on details, and the magnificance of duplicating and color dodge in certain places to bring out the colour and texture.
Not by any means perfect, but now my favourite piece in this gallery in context of environments. A few more of these practices and I might have a portfolio piece!

This is the last one of the series, I'm planning to draw out a few of the model props as I go along over the next five weeks, so if I have the time to make them good enough to put up here, you may see them in a few weeks to come.
Hope you like, thanks for sticking around to see this mini trilogy!

If there's any sort of setting I just can't seem to get enough of, it's wandering around abandoned facilities in sheer terror. Very rough but gorgeous work.

Thanks! ^_^ I struggle with backgrounds a lot too, but doing some basic perspective lines and/or rough block 3d screenshots help give a good foundation to a piece. Thanks for the watch btw, really appreciate it!

Just had a look at your latest drawing of smoking a pipe - it looks pretty awesome actually, love the colours! My best advice is just to study closely how other artists you admire manage to make clear 'lineless' lines, if you get my meaning...like, they make an obvious difference between one object and another, but without using black lines. Basically, observe, reference and practice. If in doubt, just copy a piece you love, for study reasons, and not upload it to deviantart, sometimes that's the most effective way of learning somthing new ^_^ long post is long, sorry! xD

Hehe, yeah I can't help but rely on lines for some of my styles. I recently got out of that by using the lasso tool to create some clean crisp edges and shapes. It's just fun to break out of the box and go crazy, even if the result isn't 100% the best. It's the experience maaaaaannn.
D'aww, glad you like my backgrounds! I'll hopefully be doing more soon, just need to practice like hell. >_<

i'll try to use the lasso tool , when i'm painting background most of the time i do a ''base colors layer'' , yeah , you have to try everything to get better hahahah , please , do it!

Yeah, just mess about with it - you can even do a basic sketch on one layer for guidance, then lasso over it afterwards on a new layer. Yeah I do a lot of base colours, but they always end up changing a lot before the end piece! xD

Really loving these! Doing a really awesome job with them! With these are you starting off with a 3D model and paint over or are you laying out perspective lines? Keep it up!

I'm starting off with basic 3d model blocks, then painting over. Felt like I was cheating at first, but it's a good way to get ideas and concepts down quickly without having to worry about perspective issues later on. Eventually I'll start doing a transition over to perspective lines though, for knowledge's sake.
