I don't even actively hate wolves.
They're just boring, partially because everybody and their mom treats them as the pinnacle of evolution, existance, and whatnot.
They are not mystical, magical, and graceful; they are big, stupid dogs that will rip things apart without remorse.
They're not even endangered. If you want to save a dog, save the freakin' dholes or island foxes, they're actually endangered.
Get over them. Please.
If you excuse me, I'll be off in the corner loving my vermin animals, because as far as I care, opossums are way cuter than wolves are.

well wolves have done nothing that a dog can't do.
I don't see what makes them so important. they haven't exactly saved the world.
The difference between big cats and cats is that big cats are BIG, more powerful and can take down large prey- a regular cat cannot (unless it has superpowers or something). With wolves and dogs, a husky could take down the same prey as a wolf, any dog can howl and some are the same size as a wolf with the same power or more.

Ok being special is not the point, nothing has to be special for anyone to like it. We like wolves for many more reasons then i could write in the time i have and also your saying that a lab or a freaking lapdog dog could take down a full grown elk?!...Ya maybe the lapdog was going too far, BUT STILL do you honestly believe that any dog could go through the things that wolves do daily for the rest of their lives and not be harshly defeated at times?Im not saying dogs are weak, i actually like dogs,im just saying, do you believe dogs could be that more AMAZING than wolves or even stronger, really?A lab, born and raised in captivity, could take down a 300lb bull elk?Mabey if they had a realy lot of pack members then mabey, but just a few in one pack, like wolves can?...Sorry but i think not.
Anyways this is like a REALLY old post of mine and ive got alot of replies from this, yet ive never got a solid and valid reason for anyone to truly have a reason to hate wolves. Actually i dont think i ever will because no one has a reason in this entire planet has a reason to hate any animal, because there is always an explination for why things happen,(Im talking about if one harmed anyone),even if the explination is that you hate something for no reason at all.

Note: I don't hate them because they were bred to kill wolves (though they did a good job considering with that and humans there are 0 wolves in the UK) I love them because there's a really sweet story about one and the two I've met are the sweetest things I've ever seen. just wanted to clear that up in case of confusion xD

if dogs lived wild and in packs, large dogs could. Huskies, shepherds, houndsΒ etc could take an elk down if they hunted like wolves do.
a large malamute husky is easily around the same size as some wolves and just as strong- the only reason it seems strange is because they've never been seen hunting in packs because they don't live wild. Of course it depends on the size, but large dogs are more than capable of taking down an elk in pack work. Labradors would probably be around sheep and stuff and smaller dogs with smaller prey, but the larger dogs could take an elk down.
If dogs had lived in the wild as long as wolves, they would be able to hunt the same prey. The fact is that dogs have never needed to, but if they had the same amount of contact with humans as wolves, the larger would be able to take down large prey- dogs like malamutes, Rhodesian ridgebacks, great danes etc- big and powerful dogs.

I don't have wolves so I don't know where you got that from. But I don't like them as much now because wherever you go on the internet there are people who worship them and are oftenΒ ignorant of the fact that they're dangerous but not the most amazing thing in the world.Β People either claim that they're harmless or that no animal could live like they do, which is false because there are plenty of animals who live like them and worse.

but that gives me no true reason not to like them any less. I like them because i admire their strength and freedom in the wild, just like many of my other favorite animals. And what you like and what you dont like is strictly your opinion and mine so, i guess there will never be an end to this.
