Korgoth of Barbaria fan art!I honestly can't understand why this show never got further than the pilot. If you aren't familiar with Korgoth you should immediately check it out on you tube. The cartoon is insanely good.

Sadly, the real reason for Korgoth's cancellation was that he lost his long, slow battle with intestinal parasites. They say he wasn't much of a man left by the time he died. His last wench was able to carry him to his grave, and after she buried him he was unable to claw his way out and save her from the monster that exploded out of his gut.
Some say he's down there still, holding his breath (and his guts) like a champ. For all eternity.
Btw this is one hell of a pleasure to scrutinize.

Love the artwork. The reason that this was not advanced any further than it did was simply due to the cost of producing the animation being too high. A shame though, because I really wanted to see more of this show.

This is still my favorite [as] pilot of all time. I was greatly saddened that it never was picked up as a series, but there is a fair explanation. According to my last attempt to get to the bottom of things, the creator, Aaron Springer, was too busy with his commitment to Spongebob Squarepants to launch a full series. Also, in 2010, [as] ran a bumper explaining why several pilots were never picked up, Korgoth's explanation being "too expensive."

Because the New World Order butchered "Sword and Sorcery" for it's P.C. agenda. That's why all the Sword and Sorcery was soooo cool for the 70s then got pulled off the shelves and replaced with deconstructionist and feminist garbage. It's their #1 enemy since Sword and Sorcery is the "heroic Male" the "SuperMan" and the controllers hate man most of all and want him enslaved.

Snide remarks about your political assumptions aside, rest assured that the show was merely doomed due to a combination of poor marketing / high cost / creator too busy with other projects. It wouldn't be the first time such a thing happened.

The original Governator "Conan" movie was legendary.
They then made a sequel I could have written better in Grade School and subsequent quality fell after that. Like the Red Sonja one where they had him return (not as conan) to make him second to a WOMAN. More or less every SW&SC movie after was full of meddler/moneymen who lamed and PC'd it to death. All the money into making a movie, Hollywood has to fight like a stray animal captured by a "exceptional person" facing it's 20th daily temperature reading to kill the story.
Korgoth is legendary, just in that it's "All good". If it was backed up, the show would be a radical hit, probably sparking a non-pc live action Sw&Sc. I truly think that genre is under attack by "Controllers" who fear it.

Political Correctness is part of the country's decline, yes.
Not saying I endorse per se racism or sexism, but the "Anti-Racist", "Anti-Sexist" supposed backlash was smashed in the face of a generation of males who'd actually been raised to be more forward thinking. Thus, they take it like the men they are (but have to be ashamed of) and at first ignore the "Old school bigots". But after a lifetime of getting spat upon, the stuff the old fellas said sinks in, "It was us or them and we won, but you are gonna find that out sonny, that's all ah have ta say..."
I think it's actually created to cause MORE racism and sexism later. To discredit and defuse the progressive/leftist movement by taking it to ridiculous extremes that get turned merely into counter-racism. Thus racism/sexism becomes daring, fashionable, etc.
