I always thought of Sunset Shimmer's cutiemark as two halves of one whole, both of which being very different from the other so I thought of what it would be like if they were separated. If they're going to do a "split personality by spell" plot, then they should definitely have Sunset Shimmer be the victim, mostly to watch the "good half" freak out about the "bad half" and the fact that the "bad half" is the WHOLE REASON WHY she left Celestia in the first place!

Yeah, it's really fun to think about the chemistry between them, especially on how Shimmer would call out Sunset on her past actions. Besides it makes sense with her cutiemark, it's like it's fighting with itself, and the bad half managed to push down the good half to submission.

I started thinking about it when I thought it reminded me of a of a yin yang, two forces fighting within her without even knowing it.
I like to think of it as balance as well since it's seems she is the most level headed of the group when taking everything in to account. The cutiemark also a strange depiction of a sunset so that led me to think of it a something more.Β
