Daemon/Ghost
Once a bodiless, stray being. Always exceptionally calm and carefree, at times seemingly absent-minded.
One morning, wandering aimlessly, he noticed an older man completely absorbed in melancholy, wearing an outfit that was not from this era. Just as people passing by were unable to see or interact with the shapeless cloud of dark smoke that Bubak was at the time, they were completely ignoring the presence of the mysterious man. Thus, seeing a fellow magical being in a bad mental state, Bubak decided to try to lift his mood up a bit with a casual conversation.
He discovered that their personalities were almost perfectly matching. They were both composed, somewhat indifferent about their own existence, but optimistic about the world and people around them. They talked and talked, until the Sun set.
That is how a simple daemon bereft of a body and any goals made friends with the fallen god Svetovid.
Svetovid’s kingdom was destroyed hundreds of years ago, when countless daemons unexpectedly came together and attacked all at once, in result, overpowering the gods themselves. All of the deities besides him were annihilated. Using up all of his power in combat, fighting until he no longer could, the once all-powerful Svetovid burnt out to the point of an empty husk, unable to even attempt bringing his kingdom back to its former glory.
Bubak was the first being he could share his story with, and the first good-hearted daemon he had ever met.
Before they said goodbye to each other at midnight, Svetovid decided to express his gratitude to Bubak for keeping him company, and so he used what was left of his godly power to create a body made of rags for him, while also presenting him with a one-of-a-kind whistle that he kept with him. Svetovid then asked him to visit him again sometime.
The newly born daemon got used to controlling his sewn together from random pieces of cloth body surprisingly quickly. Then, he blew the instrument gifted to him by the god.
Not even a minute had passed before from in between the dark clouds four giant black cats came down on the ground, harnessed to a huge, decorated sleigh. Bubak almost immediately turned back to Svetovid to joke about becoming the new Santa Claus, but he was no longer there.
From that moment, the daemon dedicated himself to travelling through small villages and helping people living there in all the ways he could, often getting along the best with the elder.
He especially took a liking to sewing.Related content
