that grin's gonna vanish the moment fang jumps and flare remembers his fireballs don't lock onSo I've kinda been dead on this site, and the reason for that is this - I'm in the process of making a character mod for Sonic Robo Blast 2!
For those who don't know, Sonic Robo Blast 2 is an old fangame (and i mean 199X old) that's to this day getting updates and mods - certainly helps that it runs on the easily-moddable Doom Legacy engine. The most recent "big" update - 2019's 2.2 - pretty much completely overhauled the game, revamping and adding stages and bosses - one of them being Fang here.
While Flare is far from done, he IS halfway there - the main sprites and coding are completed and implemented, just leaving the super form to sprite. Super alone will certainly be a BIG undertaking haha
About the image itself: the idea just materialized in my head after I decided to give Flare a fireball ability. It would NOT leave my head, so I caved and put this together via MS Paint and a screenshot from the game itself. It's dumb, I know.
Also yeah I'm bringing Flare back. Don't worry, I'm gonna get back to Ra-Kii's universe eventually.
Flare's art and the image composition was done in MS Paint.
Fang's sprite was done by MotorRoach (i think). SRB2 was made by Sonic Team Jr.
