... yes, I guess I was a bit in pov-ray mood, that was the thing I've started my 3d addiction

I havent tried pov-ray yet but it looks a pretty powerful program

yea ... pov-ray is quite freaky, especially when you're not using a mesh editor and write instead the code of the image you render in a editor (and search the bugs if he doesn't start afterwards) ... and he's a pure raytracer (but I guess nowadays it could be a bit faster)
but there is somewhere also a translator so you can edit it with 3dsmx (or something else) and render it with pov-ray, that's quite cool ([link] )

Yeah, that would be freaky using code instead of seeing a mesh, Id get lost very quickly I think lol, That is a cool image in your link, Nice work bro!!

yea, that was quite freaky ... but it was also a bit like kinder surprise
thanks

I use Mandelbulb occasionally and its a bit like the kinder surprise effect too, Never knowing exactly what the render will turn out like, Had lots of happy accidents using it

the coolest happy accident (it was also a bug) was ISO the rendering took two weeks ... but anyway, it was really cool

That is one hell of a render time!! :0 I had an image rendering a while ago and switched off the computer by mistake, It had been running the whole day lol, I like your image, It is a very complex mesh, Nice one!!

Spiritofdarkness In reply to mac2010 [2012-06-19 09:57:12 +0000 UTC]
yeap, but the good thing on pov-ray is that you can stop and restart rendering at a certain line

this combines like all the best textures there are to stare at... in one. the glossy the blues the pinks the light the sheens.

Lovely! In a strange way, it reminds me of the spaceship on the TV show "Lexx". Great work.

Unfortunately, they took it off the air a few years ago. But there are rumors that the SyFy channel might bring it back. It was a weird show, but cool.

Very inetesrting textures, it loks psychedelic. I like the glowing in the middle, it gives it an interesting contrast

This one looks awesome. I love the colors. For some reason, when I look at the smaller version, it reminds me of a cave.
Nice work.

This is wonderful. Like some of the other people who have commented on this piece, I have to say that the colours are a wonderful combination. I don't know why, but it makes me think of human biology. Perhaps its all the red making me think of blood heh. Either way, nice work!

Renderd all with the Final Renderer in 3DsMax
