We didn’t know a hello would lead to the start of the story of us

It was the first day, the morning quite gray.

I sat beside him, since no other seats were open

All we spoke were a hello and a goodbye, only small tokens.

A day went by, then the next and another.

Then again, we sat by each other.

From there on out it was all the same.

We met on a bus, again the next year.

Hellos could be passed in the halls

Though frankly, we shared no classes at all.

Again on the bus, we continued to chat.

Neither knowing what could come of that.

This year was better, a few more facts.

Not much for a need to overreact.
