Hmmm, getting it to work. . . well, your best bet would probably be to just take a controller apart (they're just standard phillips head screws) and use that to create a laser etched wooden case. It will require really thin wood and probably a bit of assembly. It might be best to keep the standard buttons and D-pad though as getting the mechanism to work with wood could prove tricky.
