Hey, at least you've got a fancy DSLR! My only digital camera is a Kodak "point and shoot" like the size of a business card. I never could get a decent picture with it. Much happier with film, even if it costs a lot more in the long run

oooohyeah. *pat pat* kodaks are by far the worst point in shoots (i guess that's my opinion. i worked at best buy in the camera department.. ughugh kodak.)
i think a dlsr is a nice investment for anyone wanting to take pictures.
but i still want a point and shoot. :'(

Thanks for the sympathy, heh. As for a point and shoot digital, Canon's got some good stuff for less than a Benjamin.

If you want a point and shoot film, though, might I suggest going vintage? I'm extremely pleased with my thirty-five dollar, thirty-five millimeter Vitomatic IIa.

oooh ive messed with film, but on my canon rebel GII.
i love vintage, so i might look around and see what i cant find.
and Canon point and shoots are spectacular. the a2000 and A95 are good.

Yeah, my Canon is a Rebel G from the late nineties, actually. It's.... Alright. I think it could be better, but maybe I just need nicer lenses. And I looked at both digital Canons you mentioned here--terribly pricey!

You can probably get one of those for less than fifty bucks, but of course it will be 35mm film and it will have some limitations. Still, though, pretty small, very solid (I dropped mine like four feet in my car and nothing happened to it at all!)

If you ever need info on an unusual film camera, it seems like that Camerapedia wiki is the place to go.
