Valirea: Goddess of Sea and Sky

Decades ago, the deciever was known as Hexaghorra, the Trickster god.

His battle against Valirea left him crippled, diminished, but alive.

He spent decades forming a plan, manipulating kingdoms in order to gain what he needs to diminish Valirea's godhood.

Valirea is one of the last remaining deities still worshipped in the world.

Her divinity comes from the sea and sky themselves. They make her immortal.
He intends to cut her off from the sea and cripple her wings.
Because on land, he considers her nothing more than a powerful monster, one that CAN be killed!

To do this he needs a few more objects, objects he manipulates Dex into getting for him.
Objects Hexaghorra claims will separate him from Dex, but the truth is he can leave at any time.

Why he chose Dex for this is because of his power, the comet that fell from the sky and gave him his power comes from Valirea.
That comet...was her son! Who was killed before he could hatch. He would have become the new god of the Earth.
When Dex touched his crystal-egg as a child, he absorbed the sliver of power that had yet to fade away.

Hexaghorra needs that connection to succeed.

His first plan of manipulating the kingdoms for this failed, thanks to the interference of Cyreen, Dex is his plan B.
