Description Another redesign of Deadpool. I wanted something that'll work on screen and still be true to the character. (No he doesn't have his teleport belt).

Wade Wilson only wanted to to travel to far, exotic places, meet new and exciting people, and then kill them. Then he got cancer. Now he hunts down mutants and kills them for shiggles and money. That's the short version of his story (my version). He'll be that bad guy we all love.

This is also a teaser for a teaser I'm working on. You've been teased.

SPLENDOR ENTERTAINMENT: A MOMENT OF GREATNESS God Bless.

Great again. Love the translation to a slightly more realistic outfit.

Thanks. Spandex doesn't really look good in real life.

No, it does not.

You'd figure cosplayers would have figured that out by now, but

Aye. What cosplayers (all too often) forget is that superheroes have an element of utility to their outfits. So if you're making a superhero outfit, try to imagine what someone could actually conceivably wear for situations. For instance, I imagine that the Superman RD suit I designed is actually a cotton/polyester blend similar to what's worn in flight suits for the military. The reason it's tight is not the fabric, but because it's actually a bit too small on Clark's ginormous frame. Honestly, that's why the Nolan-Verse worked: they designed a suit of urban armor, not a superhero outfit.

Yes! Comic book purists need to allow for some creative freedom and medium interpretation on super hero costumes.

I tend to create hero costumes with movies already in mind, so costumes tend to be more practical looking.

'Tis a good idea. I tend to design costumes with practicality of movement, economic conditions of the hero, and powers in mind.

Yes! Those are all uber important when designing characters. It's not simply an aesthetic thing, costumes are supposed to be a reflection of the hero (which is a reflection of the alter-ego). That's why I like your redesigns, and comments. You get that aspect of the character. Maybe it's an actor/writer thing.

Aye. Probably more an actor thing than a writer thing, because while I am an actor I can't write for crap.

Not true! You have a crap ton of awesome premises, everyone of which makes me go "I'd pay to see that." (or "pay to play that," referring to your Superman game.)

Kerevon In reply to SplendorEnt [2012-06-20 17:57:40 +0000 UTC]

Premises, aye. Every attempt thus far to turn those into a full story have fallen slightly short. I am having some success on the comic front, however my own feeble talents in that area make the process take forever, with a highly unpolished result. So far I've only been able to make four panels of Superman RD, all of which are poor quality, black-and-white, and add very little to the actual plot (though they do work at showing the personality of two side-characters, as well as some minor world-building).

Yeah I have the same problem a lot. I get an idea, love it, play with it, but then I get stuck so I move on to something else until I get stuck there too. So I'm left with a lot of unfinished pictures, scripts, outlines, and ideas. It's very frustrating.

The best way I know how to alleviate the comic situation is to do the script/outline first then follow up with the artwork. That way you'll have the beginning done, and gain more attention for your work in the process.

And you can always upload it in segments. Increase intrigue. Increase views. Decrease stress.

I think the look works. More like form-fitting body armor than tights.

I was at a comic convention a few weeks ago and saw plenty of tights-wearing Deadpool cosplayers. In real life... doesn't look as cool as it does in comics. So I think your style works well.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks I was going for modified military-esque clothing/gear.

Yeah tights almost never translate well into reality and the movie screen. Fans'll complain (but they always do). And mercenaries are practically army guys without patriotism, but I left the armor because of his healing factor (DP would get a kick out of seeing him regrow limbs and whatnaught).

Thank you. I try to improve with each upload.
