In this tutorial I will be showing everyone how to start off on video editing with Gimp and Quicktime. Unlike my first tutorial this one is abit better and more informative on the steps and actions that will be taking place in the creation of your animation. So hope you all enjoy this tutorial and hope to see more animators out there.

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I tried many times to make an animation. Using GIMP and QuickTime together never crossed my mind. This is brilliant.
I actually have some wicked idea, so if I create something I'll let you know, right?

What's the algorithm.. method... whatever, to find out what the middle layers are? I tried dividing the amount of layers by two, but I seem to be failing... I think it's just to late for me to concentrate on numbers.

Just count how many layers there are
divide by 2
then count the resulting # and you should hit the middle

Hmm My layers don't overlap each other the way yours do... For me, the first visible layer from the top is only seen and not the ones beneath it
My settings look the same as yours. Any help?

To revile the under layer you must erase part of the top layer. By erasing part of the top layer. it'll show the under layer

once you know how gimp works, then editing becomes a breeze

it should work the same in photoshop. it just might be abit more cramped

I think the reason this didn't work for me is that I don't have the full version of quick time.

i dont have the full version either. the free version only allows the copy action which is quite handy

you dont use gimp to open the videos. you use quicktime to open the videos and to copy them over to Gimp
