The Gentle Ocean SprayThe waves crash against an old abandoned beach
Where forgotten love has become so far from reach
Years ago a happy couple wrote their names there in the sand
As they sat laughing, smiling, and holding hands
But now many years have passed
And against their love many waves have crashed
The hope they had for each other has been worn away
It slowly disappeared into the gentle ocean spray
They once had dreams that they would never be alone
If only they would’ve carved their love in stone
Then no matter how the ocean tried
It couldn’t have washed away the love they held inside
But they wrote their names in the beachfront sand
And surrounded it with hearts to show their plans
But soon the evening tide came in and carried hope away
Where it disappeared into the gentle ocean spray
Someday soon two new lovers will scatter the sands
With their hopes and dreams as they gladly hold the other’s hand
But then when the tide comes in with the birth of a new day
