Description

A decision was made. Eidolon must be punished, and the punishment has to fit the crime. Justice has to be equal in measure- and there is little that can measure up to murder. But the Council came to an accord... when given two extremes, in the end, the choice was unanimous.

In the final days of fall Lennart assembles three wardens, Elijah, Thirdghost, and Marjorie, as well as Thetis, kin to the prisoner and his slain family. Aira is among the north, wanting no part in her killer's fate. Together they march Eidolon into the Freelands, leaving him in the dark as to what's coming - although the dark wolf can likely guess it's nothing good - until they are far from Skydas borders. As dusk falls, his Paladins flanking him the Alpha calls them to a halt, Lennart turns to face Eidolon with a stony gaze. The golden wolf nods once, and Elijah and Thirdghost spring to wrestle their snarling prisoner to the ground while he begins to speak.

"Eidolon. You murdered our packmate Aira and have claimed no remorse, nor do you regret others who have fallen to your fangs before her. There is no justification for killing another wolf in cold blood... which is why this will not be an execution. But there will be a price to pay." His paws are steady despite how they feel heavy as boulders as he steps forward to stand above Eidolon. Red eyes glare up at him balefully and he steels himself. He has to do this. "You took something from Aira that, despite her return, she will never get back. So too shall we take something from you... and then the island will decide your fate."

The act is ugly. Lennart's claws gleam in the low light before they strike down at Eidolon's eyes, ripping away his sight. When it is done, the dark wolf is left with only the company of his blood and the elements as the Skydans leave him to the isle's judgment.

WHEW this was a fun collab!! B) I sketched, lined and did the background, and Scrib finished colors and shading. Very pleased to have tag teamed to illustrate this moment from Eidolon's branding, and thank you to Loomi, Naf, Rue and Kite for volunteering your wardens! AND WITH THIS Skydas's most severe punishment has now officially made its entrance in-game... let's hope it doesn't have to make another appearance anytime soon.
