After struggling during the battle with Lanval and Riikka's spectral allies, Oscar's stubborn resolve has finally cracked; his injuries both old and new make it too difficult to serve effectively as a keeper. War was on the horizon, and Stonehaven doesn't need a warrior who can barely fight through his fatigue. It's a hard thing for him to admit to himself and to Yetta when he pulls her aside to go over his options again, but he knows its for the best - even if it feels like conceding defeat. All he knows how to do is fight... but maybe he can try to learn how to heal, instead.
