We all know Miles "Tails" Prower as the two-tailed orange fox that we all know and love. But what we Don't know, is that is actually a costume.That's right fox, it's actually the raccoon NOT Tanooki -(Well, in Pre Sonic 2 development, he orgianly was intended to be) version of Tails. Yes, from what I've heard it was all part of a competition to design a sidekick for Sonic. Another idea was a turtle called "Boomer" that had a rocket pack strapped to its back.

Not too much else except that Tails was portrayed as a female in Latin American versions of AOSTH. I haven't heard anything about the three Tails, though. All of my sources seem to imply that he was always intended to have two.

lol, the tanuki is actually a more popular animal in japan, but they are not related to the raccoon at all, and closely related to the fox. I've seen tanukis and hedgehog here on base, but no foxes.
