In 1941, Tex Avery left Warner Bros. after having several fights with Leon Schlesinger regarding All This and Wabbit Stew and The Heckling Hare's ending. Bob Clampett would take over Tex's unit while Norm MacCabe would take over Bob's old unit until 1943 when he got drafted and Frank Tashlin returned by then. Since he was no longer stuck with black and white Porky Pig shorts, Bob would go on to create some of his own characters starting with Beaky. Beaky's first two appearances were directed by Clampett until he left in 1946. Friz Freleng and Bob McKimson would have their own tries at Beaky in 1950 before he was retired.

Overall, Beaky was a fun character and an underrated one.

Agreeable? docs.google.com/drawings/d/11f…

They should've made a Beaky series off of the persona he had in The Lion's Busy.

Yeah, this could've been like the Tweety shorts where Freleng retooled the character. If only he made more appearances. The only appearance I can remember of him in modern days is in The Looney Tunes Show episode Ridiculous Journey.

I think Ridiculous Journey's one of the best LT Show episodes because we got to see a bunch of minor characters/one-shot characters from the OG series.

Yep, do you think their successor voices were decent there?

Yep, at least TLTS did show us some of our minor characters and show why they're underrated.

True....like Cecil in those two Season 2 episodes. Those episodes were funny....especially Customer Service.

Yeah...most of the cameos though came in late-Season 1/early Season 2.
