Another character created for the Seven Arts era was Merlin the Magic Mouse (with his sidekick Second Banana). I also forgot to mention that with the exception of Chimp & Zee and the Bunny and Claude shorts, Mel Blanc didn't voice the new characters and they were instead voiced by Larry Storch (except for Merlin's first short where everyone was voiced by Daws Butler).

Overall, Merlin's slightly worse than Cool Cat with boring humor, weaker animation and the usual lack of substance.
